Programs That Make a Difference
The Inaugural Mazzei Foundation Gala 2024
The Mazzei Foundation Gala was a success, bringing together an incredible group of people to support a meaningful cause. The evening was filled with generosity, with attendees purchasing tickets and making donations to make a real impact. Stephen Curry served as the MC for the event, bringing his energy to the stage. Rosie Batty delivered an inspiring speech that deeply resonated with everyone. She raised a renewed call to action to the wider construction industry, urging change and a collective effort to address the issues facing women and children seeking safe spaces.
The partnership with Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre played a key role in the success of the evening. Their ongoing commitment to the cause is truly commendable. The Perfect Events Group did an incredible job in helping to organise the event, ensuring it was seamless and memorable. A special mention goes to Bayford Volkswagen Group Camberwell, whose generous sponsorship made the gala possible. Excitement is already building for the next event, set to take place in March next year.

Making a difference
In October 2024, founders Samantha and Daniel Mazzei presented a cheque of over $100,000 raised at the Inaugural Mazzei Foundation Gala to Safe Steps Family Violence Response Centre. Dr Chelsea Tobin, CF, GAICD, CEO of Safe Steps, shared that this funding goes towards Safe Steps providing supported accommodation at its Sanctuary Model sites for women and children who have fled their homes due to family violence. In addition, the funds will support the vital services provided by Safe Steps including the provision of therapeutic, trauma-informed care and education for those in need.
Beyond financial support, the partnership between the Mazzei Foundation and Safe Steps continues to grow, fostering valuable connections and sharing expertise to help those rebuilding their lives after escaping family and domestic violence.
